Middle School Summer 2025 Registration

The Academy offers an seven week summer program for all middle and high school students in Waukegan, IL.

The summer program is a way to stay connected, continue academic growth and basketball skills, while continuing to help create leaders within our community.

The Academy Summer Program is seven weeks of academics, basketball and fieldtrips located at John Lewis Middle School in Waukegan, IL.

Our middle school program is for incoming sixth graders, seventh and 8th graders from all five Waukegan middle schools.

We encourage incoming sixth graders to join us in the summer to help the transition into middle school and continue into our school year program.

Our high school program is for continuing Academy students in ninth through twelfth grade.

Our focus is:

• educational enrichment and academic assistance

• basketball progression, skills and drills

• cultural experiences and exploration

• Monday through Thursday, students attend high interest and highly interactive classes in the morning and focus on basketball fundamentals, skill training, and teamwork in the afternoon.

• Field trips for new cultural experiences, exploration, and fun are taken every Friday. Every year the summer program has grown and expanded giving more opportunities and exciting experiences for our middle school students.

The summer is a time for The Academy to continue to build strong and lasting relationships with our students, families, and communities.
